Guns should have had more success/ recognition than they did. After being used to the GnR lineup version they just aren't the same but still interesting to hear the two bands origins and then what they became after Axl and Tracii went their separate ways. The song from Cocked & Loaded was written about the popular actress Jayne.
There's some Hollywood Rose versions of the GnR lies/ Live Like a Suicide songs and they have a more L.A Guns feel at times. As far as a Shredder/ technical player Tracii is probably a better guitarist than Slash but not the right one for G'n'R. They both came from the same town and scene but that's about it. I'm just now checking out the last two and they seem decent.Īs far as comparing to Guns n' Roses. Like the got harder/ heavier, but Phil's vocal style didn't fit the music well. Viscous Circle was the last one I got but I haven't listened to it in a long time and it's not on Spotify right now. I have had it on a hair metal disc for more than a decade now but only recently fell in love with it.
Over the Edge was probably the best one on it. Hollywood Vampires doesn't have the aggression of that first album and some songs from Cocked and Loaded had. The Cry no More/ One way ticket combo from the first one I feel was a much better ballad. I never really cared for the Ballad of Jayne. The second one had some really good songs like Malaria, Never enough, Rip and Tear, I wanna be your man, Showdown( Riot on Sunset).
